I also was able to let my inner-child play in the leaves for a few minutes. Allow yourself a few minutes every day to get wildly excited about something. It makes for a peaceful soul.
Today was a great thrift day. Searching through clothes this weekend, I found a few treasures. I also found a few things that would make a preacher cuss, but that is neither here nor there.
Mint green quarter length shirt (Land's End, I might add) = $2.24
Burgundy jacket = $3.74
Necklace = $1.29 (at the Kmart Going out of Business sale!)
Jeans = $1.25 (I KNOW, RIGHT?)
Shoes = $1.99, a re-wear from Day #1
Grand total = $10.51
Did you get the Cheryl Crow reference earlier? If so, you also know the lines:
I don't have digital
I don't have diddly squat
It's not having what you want
It's wanting what you've got.
A round of applause to those of you that just sang the lyrics out loud while reading this and had your family stare at you like you are insane. Let them think you are crazy. Maybe you will get a few extra minutes of alone time.
It is a catchy tune. More so than that, a great end to today's blog and the last two lines are a mantra that each of us should continue to strive towards. We are all works in progress. Some of us further along than others.

Yay Dawn! This is such a great idea and so stylishly and hilariously done. I am loving it and you are a trip - as ever. You would love the op shopping here. So, please come visit (there goes the budget). We have a massive store called Savers where I buy most of the girls' clothes on 50% off Mondays. Yes, it's thrift - and it's 50% off! I should note that these are the clothes I buy to top up the amazing shipments from the US grandparents, who, based on the amount of clothing sent, seem to be under the impression that our family is Jolie-Pitt sized, but what-evs. Huge hugs! Can't wait to see the rest of your outfits and happy anniversary for the other day (just squeezing in as much as I can in a missive between toddler antics and baby demands ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Sara! I thought of you just the other day. I hope life is treating you well! Savers sounds intriguing and grandparents are meant to spoil the kiddos! Eric and I are hoping to take a trip for our 10th in a few years. Maybe Australia is in the cards?
